Charles went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2022.
Charles was born April 3, 1933, in Concho County, to parents Charles Sr. and Camille Mikeska Jurecek. In 1946, at the early age of thirteen, he completed his first cotton crop after his father broke his arm in a massive hailstorm while driving a tractor. After graduating from Eola High School, he served in the U. S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. Charles returned back home to farming. He enjoyed a lifetime of driving tractors and farming in Eola and Schleicher Counties.
He married MaeDell Wanoreck on June 25, 1960, and they shared 61 years together. Charles was a member of St. Philips Catholic Church of Eola and served on the church board. Charles was involved in many organizations through the years including the Eola School Board, Concho County FSA office, Concho County Jr. Livestock Association and Millersview Doole Water Board, but had the most fun belonging to the Czech Heritage Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond Jurecek of Eola, Nick Jurecek of Eldorado and sister Matilda Wilde of Eldorado, brother-in-law Ello Wilde, sister-in-law Kate Jurecek and nephew Mike Jurecek, nieces Nancy Schwertner and Sheila Chrisman.
He is survived by his wife, MaeDell, son Mitch of Eldorado, daughter Teresa Sturm and husband Kevin of Veribest. Granddaughter Ashley Henrich and husband Scott of New Braunfels. Grandsons Justin Sturm of Veribest, Jaakan Jurecek, and Josh Jurecek and wife Samantha of Eldorado, and Great Grandsons Clay Henrich and Lain Jurecek. As well as a very special caretaker and family friend, Payton Whitten.
A Rosary will be held at 1:00pm, January 5, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, TX. A funeral mass will be following at 2:00pm and burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Justin Sturm, Scott Henrich, Jaakan Jurecek, Josh Jurecek, Richard Moeller, and Steve Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers are Randy Spieker, Blake Blythe, Stuart Lehr, and Cody Moeller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery or your favorite charity.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for Schleicher County Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice for all the care and compassion that was show to them.
