Steven Mitchell Lazenby, known by most as “Butch,” passed from this life on December 21, 2021, at 38 years of age in San Angelo, Texas. He was born on December 22, 1982, in Andrews, Texas to Paula and Andy Lazenby. He attended Tarleton State College where he majored in Agricultural Studies.
Steven was a mechanic at heart and could fix nearly anything. He loved barbequing for family holidays and get-togethers. Everyone always looked forward to Steven’s turkeys done on the grill. And, if you were ever looking for Steven, you would find him in the shop reading his Bible, smoking his pipe, listening to records or taking time to watch a few duck hunting videos.
Steven had a love of God, family, and hunting…in that order. He loved with fierceness equal to the love God has for us all. He was a proud member of the Christian Men’s Network where he was able to graduate and obtain his sword. That was one of the proudest moments of his life. Three words that sum up Steven’s life are “Faith over imperfection.” And, Ephesians 6:10-17, “the whole armor of God,” was Steven’s goal.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lazenby (Francis); his son, Gavriel Matthew Lazenby and his step-son Michale De La Rosa; Mother, Paula Lazenby; Father, Andy Lazenby; other family members: Jesse Lazenby, Christina Garcia, Wesley Lazenby, Sr., Wesley Lazenby, Jr., WaDonna Lazenby, Jeremiah Medina, Arianna Mendez, Madison Lazenby, Alyssa Lazenby and Jesse Lazenby Jr.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and kindnesses shown during this most difficult time.
Services will be held at TLC on January 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. He is in the care of Harper Funeral Home who is happy to provide additional information if needed.
