Michael Robert “Mike” Percifull, 63, of San Angelo, Robert Lee, Sonora, and Granbury Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 7:18 a.m. in San Angelo Texas surrounded by family. Mike was born on December 12, 1957 to the late, Daniel Franklin “Frank” Percifull, Jr. and Frances “Dean” Richards-Percifull of Robert Lee Texas.
Mike graduated from Robert Lee High School in 1976 and went to work in the oil field in Sonora Texas along with a few close friends. Mike spent most of his professional career in Sonora Texas where he raised a family, and over those 30 years amassed many lifelong friends. In 2006 Mike set out to try his own luck and founded Renegade Well Services, a family business that was based out of the greater Fort Worth area. After successfully starting, building, and running Renegade for several years, Mike decided to retire and devote more time to his grandchildren, family, the Catholic Church, and other local support groups.
Mike was best known for his positive outlook on life, his outgoing personality, and his endless optimism. A cup of coffee and a smile were two things you were sure to see every time you came across Mike, whether at work, around town, or at a local football game. Mike was well known for his incredible work ethic and until the final days was most comfortable in his steel toe boots and coveralls, or his “onesie” as his grandchildren would tease!
Mike was an avid football fan, rooting for the Sonora Broncos, Robert Lee Steers, Texas Longhorns and whoever the Oklahoma Sooners were playing that week! For many years Mike found joy being a radio announcer for the Sonora Broncos football Team alongside one of his close friends where his personality really came to life. It could be said that if Mike had it his way, both teams would win, as he hated to see others lose!
Mike was a “family man” and spent most of his time with immediate family, extended family, or friends that he considered family! Mike loved playing with the grandkids and could often be found rolling on the ground wrestling with them or giving horseback rides. Mike was an extremely compassionate man who made himself available to friends and family and was always willing to help in whatever capacity that was needed. Mike never met a stranger and was surrounded by people that admired and loved him.
Mike was a devout Catholic, praying his rosary once, sometimes twice a day, and was very involved in the local Catholic Church. Mike was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo, Tx. Mike’s optimism shined bright, and his faith was unwavering even in his final days.
Mike is survived by his son Jared Percifull (wife Chrissie, daughter Braylin) of Granbury, Tx; son Jacob Percifull (wife Adair, son Graham, daughter Dylan) of Fort Worth, Tx; son Joseph Percifull of San Antonio, Tx; and their mother, Marla Percifull of Granbury, Tx.
