Daniel Frank Seidel, 68, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in San Angelo. Daniel was born September 16, 1952, in San Angelo, Texas to Alton and Madeline Schraer Seidel. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1970. After high school, he attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated from there with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. Daniel met and later married the love of his life Sandra K. Stedge and they shared 26 beautiful years together. He worked for the family business, Seidel Incorporated all of his life. Daniel valued all of the employees who worked under him and his family. In his spare time, he loved hunting and fishing and playing the guitar and hearing a good joke. Daniel was a loving son, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and his faith. He especially loved doing activities with his grandchildren.
Daniel had a very giving and kind nature about him and it was always backed up with patience and compassion for others. He loved people and generously gave his time to many, including the Hermits of the Mt. Carmel Hermitage and the sisters of Our Lady of Grace Monastery. He was a tremendous example of allowing Christ’s light to shine through your work for others. Daniel was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus. He also led praise and worship music with the Heart of Mercy Prayer Group for over 25 years and brought his ministry in music to many. Daniel’s passion for his faith and family and his generous giving spirit will remain in our hearts for ever and we will dearly miss him!
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother-in-law, Bruce Stedge, Jr. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra K. Seidel, of San Angelo; his children, Brad Haman, of San Angelo and Heidi Brothers and her husband Bryan, of Livingston, MT; the granddaughter he raised Hailey Dodson, of San Angelo as well as his grandchildren Kristin Wilson and her husband Derek, of Temple, TX and Wesley Haman, of Monahans, TX; his sisters and brothers, Darlene Willig and her husband Bruce, Sharon Seidel, Howard Seidel and Ken Seidel and his wife Sandy, all of San Angelo; his father-in-law, Bruce Stedge, Sr., of Georgetown, TX; his Sister’s-in-law, Debra Van Blaricom and her husband Joseph, of Livingston, MT; Linda Finch and her husband Stan, Dinah Woolard and her husband Terry and Tammy Hardt and her husband Tommy; numerous nieces and nephews and his cousin and best friend, Stuart Seidel and many other family members and close friends.
The vigil service will be 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Barley as celebrant and Fr. Albert Ezeanya as concelebrant. The burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Brad Haman, Wesley Haman, Ken Seidel, Howard Seidel, Stuart Seidel and Jeff Schraer. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Deacon Walter Hammonds, Deacon Les Maiman, Jim Shatto, Carl Perez, Jon Bailey, Don Piwonka, Eddie Russell and the Employees of Seidel, Inc.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Carmel Hermitage, Our Lady of Grace Monastery or Angelo Catholic School.
