Peter McChristie Campbell M.D. 89 passed away August 16, 2021, after a prolonged illness. He was born January 17, 1932, in New Jersey to Peter Campbell Jr. and Catherine (Bergman) Campbell. He graduated from Flemington High School and continued on to Georgia Tech. After two years he decided he did not enjoy engineering and joined the US Army. He attended Tulane Undergrad and Tulane Medical school and graduated in 1962. He joined the US Army Medical Corp and interned in Hawaii at Tripler Army Medical Center and General Surgery Residency at Fitzsimmons in Denver Colorado.
Pete spent 1965 in Vietnam as a Brigade Surgeon with an Airborne division.
He completed his Urology Residency at Brooke Army Hospital in 1969. He met a nurse at this time and married the love of his life. Pete and Brenda spent three years in Germany, one year at Valley Forge Army Hospital processing the returning Vietnam POW’s. He retired in El Paso Texas from William Beaumont Army Medical Center as a Col. In 1979 with twenty-four years of service.
He established Alamagordo Urology in 1979 and retired in 2001. He also established the Antelope Run Ranch in 1985 in Claunch New Mexico raising cattle and enjoying a lifelong dream. He moved to San Angelo Texas in 2007 with his wife Brenda. They were married fifty-two years at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, Dr. Samantha Campbell of Denver Co., and Stephanie Campbell of Winters, Texas and her fiancé Rusty Turner.
Pete loved his family, his patients and friends. He will be greatly missed. A Life well lived.
