Ronald Clarence Hardy, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at Shannon Memorial Hospital on August 10, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Ron was born in Venice Beach, CA on May 4, 1937, and was the second son of five children to Lloyd Hardy, Sr. and June Warner Hardy.
Following graduation from high school, Ron joined the United States Air Force and served our country 20 years in Japan, Italy, Alaska, Turkey, Riverside, CA and San Antonio, TX. He retired from the military in San Angelo as a Master Sargent. He then attended Angelo State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History and minored in Spanish. Following many years of services, Ron also retired from the United States Postal Services.
During retirement, Ron was an avid runner and enjoyed staying fit. He was a prize-winning pecan farmer who enjoyed being outside, spoiling his beloved dogs and cats and was always beside his loving wife and family.
Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 63 years, Janet Mary Hardy and their children: Ronald C. Hardy, Jr., and wife, Brenda, Robert Hardy and Sarah, Laura Hardy Arthur and husband, Todd and Lynne Hardy-Lukes and husband, Kenneth. He is also survived by their grandchildren: Jeffrey Hardy and wife, Kelbi, Chad Arthur and wife, Emily, Jason Hardy and Kanya, Jennifer Hardy and husband, Tom, Colby Arthur and fiancée, Shelby, Bryan Hardy, Christopher Hardy and Becca, Jonathan Arthur, Delanie Lukes Aldaco, and husband, Jake, Rileigh Lukes and Bennett Hardy; and his great-grandchildren: Kaiclyn Hardy and Jason Hardy, Jr. Ron is survived by his brothers Lloyd Hardy, Jr., Robert (Bob) Hardy and David Hardy and proceeded in death by his parents, Lloyd Hardy, Sr. and June Warner Hardy and his sister, Margaret.
Ron may be gone from this world, but he will be forever cherished and remembered in our hearts. His memorial service and celebration of life will be at Harper Funeral Home on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:30am followed immediately by a repast and reception.
