Mary Chapoy Biera, age 87 of San Angelo, passed away March 5, 2021 peacefully at her home from natural causes surrounded by her family.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, March 10, 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
The rosary will be said at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 11 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. The family respectfully request the face masks be worn if you are able. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Fred Biera, Tony Biera, David Biera, Rudolph Biera Jr., Raully Biera, Matthew Biera, Ray Ray Biera, and D'Andre Rodgers.
Mary was born on October 25, 1933 in Veribest to her parents Lucas and Casimira Losoya Chapoy. She was a devoted wife to her husband Rudolph J. Biera and to their children. She was a woman of faith that dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She served at St. Joseph Catholic and was a member of the choir. She cherished and loved each of her grandchildren dearly. Mary also enjoyed playing bingo and going to WinStar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolph; her son Sammy Biera; her daughter Patsy Biera; her son-in-law, Donald Jake Cortez; her siblings, Porfilio Chapoy, Juan Chapoy, Esequiel Chapoy, Elvira Chapoy and Adela Luera; and her brothers and sisters in-law, Manuel and Katie Biera, Raul and Cora Biera, and Pablo Vasquez.
She is survived by her children, Fred C.and Lupe Biera of San Angelo, Ramon and Trini Biera of Arlington, TX, Tony and Sandra Biera of Wilmer, TX, David Biera of San Angelo, Sylvia Cortez of Irving, TX, Rudolph Biera Jr and Raully Biera both of San Angelo; her siblings Cipirano "Pano" Chapoy and Ramona and Jose Silva; her sister-in-law Adela Vasquez; her grandchildren, Raquel, Lydia, Tinamarie, Ursula, Vanessa, Sabina, Ray Ray, Brenda, Sally, Serena, Staci, Leah, Janelle, Drew, Matthew. Monica, John Michael, Betty, Katelyn, Raully Jr, Asia and John Paul; thirty-three great grandchildren; fourteen great- great grandchildren; her canine bodyguard Ace; and over one hundred nieces, nephews, and cousins who she loved as her own. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary's eldest granddaughter, Raquel for caring for her in such a loving way.
