Terry Taylor, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2021. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully passed after suffering a heart attack.
Terry was born in Artesia, NM to Edd and Jimmie Taylor. He spent the early part of his life in Lovington, NM where he discovered his life-long love of flying.
As a young man, he spent countless hours flying across the country as a stunt pilot and wing-walker for Jim Franklin’s Flying Circus which was based in San Angelo, TX. After following other career pursuits in trucking and telecommunications, he was once again pulled to the air and spent many years as a flight instructor and corporate pilot. Forever the thrill-seeker, Terry enjoyed motocross and Enduro racing, drag racing, cruising on his Harley, and working on his various hot rods.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 57 years, Julia Taylor. He also leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Tammy Taylor of San Angelo; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Jack Lightfoot of San Angelo; brother and sister-in-law, JimEdd and Cyndi Taylor of Odessa; grandsons, Juston Taylor and his wife Alexis; Zachary Taylor; and Jacob Watkins, all of San Angelo; granddaughters, Jennifer Miller and husband Stefan of Arlington, TX; Sarah Burrage of Killeen; and Emma Watkins of San Angelo; Great grandsons, Aden and James Taylor, and Levi and Luke Miller; as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.
Our family is forever grateful for the kind people who have worked with and cared for Terry over the years, especially the nurses and therapists from Encompass Home Health.
The family will celebrate Terry’s life privately and ask only for prayers and well wishes. Please consider a donation in Terry’s name to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
