Jimmy Ray Gideon of Miles, TX., died Sept. 29 at Cross Country Healthcare in Brownwood. He was 74.

The memorial service will now be held on Saturday, October 10th at 4:00 PM at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.
Jimmy was born Oct. 16, 1945, in San Angelo. He attended high school in Ozona, Tx., and spent several years working in the oil field and as a mechanic. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
He lived most of his life in San Angelo and Miles and retired from Goodyear Proving Grounds after almost 30 years.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gideon; his parents, George and Juanita Gideon; and his brother, Kenneth Gideon.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Robbi Gideon of San Angelo; his granddaughters, Erin and Rylan Gideon, both of San Angelo; his grandson, Cameron Scott Gideon of San Angelo; his son, James Gideon of Odessa; his sister, Jeanette McNamee of San Antonio; and two nephews, Craig Gideon of Georgetown, Tx., and Brett Gideon of New Mexico.
