Ethel Marie Droll Weishuhn, 91, of Eola, Texas passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. She was born on September 27, 1928 in Rowena, Texas to William and Freda (Glass) Droll. On January 6, 1948 she married the love of her life, Presley (Dutch) Weishuhn at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. They spent 67 years wonderful years together before his death in 2015. Ethel graduated from Eola High School.
In their early married life they lived in the Mereta-Eola-Vancourt area farming and ranching. She taught religion classes at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mereta and worked in the cafeteria at Eola High School. Ethel belonged to St. Ambrose Catholic church where she was a member of the St. Helen’s Altar Society. Some of her greatest times were outside alongside Dutch helping on the farms and with their livestock. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids and attending birthday parties for all of them. She made many beautiful quilts, enjoyed gardening and prepared many meals for her family. One of the most things she enjoyed was being with the Eldorado Social Club at their ranch in Schleicher County. She and Dutch spent many Sunday afternoons with their friends playing dominoes with the Wall Domino Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, Michael Dennis, a grandson, Todd Weishuhn, two brothers, Carl and Billie Droll. A rosary vigil service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, September 20, 2020 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Lange officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 21, 2020 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Msgr. Larry Droll and Father Joe Choutapalli as celebrants. Interment will follow St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
Survivors include Children Allen Weishuhn (Jo Ann) of Vancourt, Linda(David) Urbanek of Lowake, David Weishuhn ( Belinda) of St. Lawrence and Donald Weishuhn (Theresa) of Eola, Grandchildren, Brady (Stephanie) Weishuhn, Laurie (Grant) Teplicek, Tanya (Obie)Wilson, Joe (Lindsey) Urbanek, John (Jennifer) Urbanek ,Amy (Justin)Schwartz, Carrie (Max) Batla , Cody (Misty)Weishuhn, and Cassie Weishuhn. Great grandchildren, Gage and Renly Weishuhn, Hunter, Hutson and Holt Teplicek, Madison Hans, Augustus Wilson, Corbin, Slayte, Rylee and Sydney Urbanek, Amber and Brenly Schwartz, Keegan, Cohen and Brylee Batla, Kaylynne Weishuhn; Great Great Grandchildren Blayze Foote. She is also survived by her brother, Harvey Droll, sisters, Lucille (Norbert) Halfmann, Dorothy (Eugene) Hirt and Jean (Bernard Hirt) and sister-in-law Merline(Olen) Weishuhn.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Brayden Park Assisted Living and the staff at Kindred Hospice for their dedicated care, Dr. Vicki Forlano and Father Joe Choutapalli and all her close friends.
