avier D. Valencia, 66, went into the arms of his Lord Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. He was born in Lazaro Cardenas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Pablo E. and Angela D. Valencia. Javier was a resident of Artesia, New Mexico, and received his US citizenship on October 28, 1982. He was an employee of the Navajo Refinery, since March 1986.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne L. Valencia; children Michelle M. Perkey and her husband Phillip, Xavier A. Valencia, and Skyler D. Valencia; grandchildren Jordan T. Perkey and wife Becca, and Caleb W. Perkey; great grandchild Aidan Thomas Emory Perkey; sisters Tina Frederico and husband Arturo of Artesia, NM and Yolanda Valencia of Denver, CO; brothers Israel Valencia and wife Catalina, Pablo Valencia III, Armando Valencia, Alonzo Valencia and wife Jessica, all of Artesia, NM; Robert Valencia of Lubbock, TX and Omar Valencia and Ramiro Bravo of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. His hobbies included wood working and building models of vintage Ford mustangs.
He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Jesse Hernandez.
