James Acevedo, 45, of San Angelo, passed away on September 17,2019. A Rosary will be read on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Joey Faylona, pastor, officiating. Services have been entrusted to Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
James Grimaldo Acevedo was born in Oceanside, California, on August 26, 1974 and was raised locally in San Angelo, Texas. He was a loving, passionate and dynamic man who always made people laugh and brought much joy to everyone around him. James loved cooking and was extremely talented at his craft. He could make something out of nothing and that is also how he lived his life- making the best of all situations with his humor and passion for adventure. He truly was a comedian and kept everyone on their toes, as did his adventurous spirit, which lit up the entire room. James served as an altar server, loved fishing and was a die hard Cowboys fan. He was everyone’s favorite uncle and was lovingly referred to as Tio Jamie by many. James was fiercely loved by his family. He is survived by his pride and joys, his daughter Breanna Acevedo and his granddaughter Sunserai Neito, his devoted parents, Ernesto Acevedo II and Eva Acevedo, his siblings Margarita Sierra and Ernesto Acevedo III, his brother-in-law John Paul Sierra, his nephew Donovan and nieces Absadie and Ali, as well a his best friend and loving companion Lila. He will be greatly missed and always celebrated.
