Janet Diann Edwards McEntyre, 59, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 10, 2018 in San Angelo.
Janet was born March 8, 1959, on her grandmother Carrie Jackson’s birthday, to Fred and Delpha Jackson Edwards. Janet grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. While growing up, she loved being with her brothers and her cousin Christie and going to the river and swimming. She also spent a great deal of time with her Granny Jackson.
On March 20, 1977, Janet married the love of her life and best friend Lester McEntyre. They raised five children and had 41 beautiful years together. Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a devout Christian who devoted her life to her family. She stayed at home raising her five children with endless love and volunteering at their schools and being a mom to her children’s friends as well, especially Melissa, Melinda, Steven, Katie and Sarah.
For the last 21 years of her life, Janet has worked as the Chief Deputy Clerk for Tom Green County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 in Judge Eddie Howard’s office. She was interested in local politics and even ran for Tom Green County Clerk. She was also the treasurer for the Concho Valley Republican Women. In her spare time, she enjoyed redecorating her home, antique shopping and refinishing furniture.
Her incredible life and tremendous love and devotion to her family will carry on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss her!
Janet was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Lester A. McEntyre, and her brother-in-law Tommy Leake.
She is survived by her husband Lester Terry McEntyre; her children, Carrie Seals and her husband Don, Lisa Hall and her husband Dusty, David McEntyre and his wife Heather, Emily Betzing and her husband Ryan and Hanna McEntyre; her Grandchildren, Laura Choate, Ethan Hall, Ally Hall, Logan Riley, Jackson McEntyre, Olivia McEntyre, Kaylin Riley and Addison Betzing; her Parents, Fred and Delpha Edwards; her brothers, Glenn Edwards, Gregory Edwards, and Scot Edwards and his wife Kim; her Brother-in-law, Michael McEntyre and his wife Lisa; her Sister-in-law, Linda Leake; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and all her special grand- dogs and grand-cats.
The Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 14th at PaulAnn Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Dorman officiating.
Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers for the service will be Don Seals, Dusty Hall, Ryan Betzing and Glen Edwards.
