Our beloved David Dale Rainey, 65, left this life on Saturday, August 4, 2018, surrounded by his family.
David was born to Charles Dale and Jean “Missy” Rainey in San Angelo on September 30, 1952. He attended San Angelo public schools and graduated from Central High School. Thereafter, he attended and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, where he met and married the love of his life, Sue. Upon graduation he returned to San Angelo to start his family.
David enjoyed life playing golf, hunting for arrowheads and being with family and friends, but hunting and spending time at the family Ranch in Menard was always his passion. David was a wonderful caring husband, a loving father and a beloved Peepaw to his four grandchildren. We will always remember the “Tickle Monster”, his infectious laugh and the stories he entertained us with. He worked with his father as a Real Estate Appraiser before running his own practice for many years.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Missy and Charles Rainey and brothers Gordon Rainey and Rusty Rainey.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of 43 years; daughter Christy and her husband, Nathan, granddaughters Caroline, Caitlin and Charlotte; son Matthew and his wife, Mia, grandson Preston; in-laws, Sharon Rainey Alexander, Sherri Rainey, Carol Montgomery, Sarah and Steve Stone, Mary Montgomery, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 8th, at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Wildlife Association or a charity of your choice.
