Donald Jackson Collins, Jr., 68, of San Angelo, passed away at his home on Friday, August 3, 2018.
He was born to the late, Donald Jackson Collins, Sr. and Gwendolyn Amelia Norton Collins on October 25, 1949 in San Angelo.
Donald married Terah Lynn Cleveland on November 25, 1972 in Christoval, Texas. He taught junior high and high school for a number of years, but believed in lifelong learning.
Donald was known as quite the history buff and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He spent countless hours exploring astronomy and photography as well. He was a serious domino player. Donald’s strong will and independent streak will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents (listed above) and grandson, Marcus.
Survivors include his wife, Terah Collins; children and their spouses, Kathleen Renee Apperson and Edward, and Daniel Hugh Collins and Leslie; grandchildren, Ashley, Amelya, Thorin, Ethan, Logan, Garrett, Jessica, Roan, Daniel, and Kilean; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2p.m. on Sunday, August 26th at the Back Door Café, 3861 State Loop 291, Roosevelt, Texas 76874.
Inturnment will be in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens of San Angelo at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo.
