Janette Lee Browder, 73, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 2, 2018, in San Angelo.
Janette was born August 18, 1944 in Duck Hill Mississippi to Joel Earl and Goldia Lee Nelson. She grew up in Quanah and at the young age of sixteen married the love of her life Carl Gary Browder on October 29, 1960.
They shared 41 beautiful years together and raised three children. They made their home in San Angelo in 1971.
Janette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. When her children were growing up, she played an active role in cub scouts and girl scouts.
Janette was a cosmetologist most of her life, owning her own salon at one time and she also taught cosmetology at Howard College for several years. She was very gifted and had a talent for seeing beauty and detail.
Janette was a water color artist. In her spare time, she was extremely adventurous and loved traveling all over in her R.V., camping, fishing, white water rafting, playing spades, canasta and 42, and was an avid sports fan with her favorite teams being the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
Most of all, Janette was a very giving person. She would help anyone in need and loved to volunteer for almost any project. Recently, she won "Volunteer of the Year" in 2014 for the Christian Village community. Her legacy of helping others, her eye for detail, and tremendous love for her family, will remain in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss her!
Janette was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Ted Nelson.
She is survived by her sons, Carl Browder and Joel Browder and his wife, Wendy, all of Texas; her daughter Ginger Manis and her husband Leonard, of San Angelo; her grandchildren, Senjen Browder and his wife Dana, Clinton Browder, Bailey Browder and his wife Megan, Heather Valentine, Tim Manis and his wife Stephanie, John Cook and his wife Stormy, and Kimberly Bitner and her husband Zane; numerous great grandchildren; her Sister, Linda Plagens and her husband Milton, of Wall; and her brother-in-law, Larry Browder and his wife Yvonne, of Quanah, TX.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, August 5th at Harper Funeral Home.
The Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 6th at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ken Dahlberg officiating.
