Ida Aguirre Rodriguez, age 95, of San Angelo, TX was called home by our Heavenly Father on July 15, 2018.
Ida was born on May 24, 1923, in Marfa, TX. Her family relocated to San Angelo during her childhood years, where she later met the love of her life, married and began a family of her own.
Ida worked in the hospitality industry until her retirement at the age of 83. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Ida was a beautiful loving mother and grandmother. Above all, her family was of utmost importance to her. She enjoyed cooking for her family and the time spent with them. She prayed for each family member daily as each one held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Juanita Aguirre; husband Jose B. Rodriguez; brothers Ben Aguirre, Ernesto Aguirre, Oscar Aguirre and Daniel Aguirre; grandchildren Orlando Rodriquez and Jackie Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children: sons, Glen Rodriquez and wife Valerie of San Angelo, Ronnie Rodriguez and wife Debbie of San Angelo; daughters, Thelma Flores of Midland; Aileen Hernandez and husband Ramiro of San Angelo, Terrie Duarte and husband Martin of Killeen; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of San Angelo for the compassionate care and support they provided as well as to the companion caregiver, Bessie Sampson.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. Internment service will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
