On June 8, 2018, our beloved mother, Aurora Lopez Hinojos went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Aurora was born on March 22, 1935 to Eliseo and Maria Lopez in Charlotte, TX. She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Frank S. Hinojos, Jr. and their two sons Jessie and David.
Aurora is survived by her sisters, Lily Diaz of San Angelo, TX and Lola Valadez of Buena Park, CA and sister-in-laws Clara Lopez of Ft. Worth, TX and Emma Hernandez of Lubbock, TX; brother-in-laws,Charlie Hinojos and wife Elia, Pete Hinojos and Cayetano Tarin, all of San Angelo, TX; Sons Richard of Amarillo, TX, Vidal and girlfriend Teri of San Antonio, TX, Frank and wife Toni of San Angelo, TX, Ernest and wife Vicki of Carlsbad, TX, Paul and wife Roberta of San Angelo, TX; daughters Irene Torres and husband Mauro, Patsy Aleman and husband Mike of Austin, TX and Helen Soza and husband Robert of Midland, TX. Aurora was a blessed grandmother 16 times and had 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Aurora attended San Angelo Public Schools through the 10th grade, until she met the love of her life, Frank at a dance fundraiser. Aurora and Frank married on March 10, 1950 and lived their lives celebrating life with the family and friends at the ranch with an occasional trip to Las Vegas! Aurora loved to receive plants and flowers of every kind. Aurora never met a 4-legged creature she didn’t love, especially Nicholas.
She was a loving and caring mom who instilled Christian values in all her children and grandchildren and Aurora always opened her home to family and friends. Her warm smile and giving heart will be carried in our minds and hearts forever. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX 76904. Viewing will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Service will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with interment following at Fairmount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vidal Hinojos, Frank Hinojos, Ernest Hinojos, Paul Hinojos, Robert Soza, Mauro Torres and Honorary pallbearer, Michael Aleman, Jr.
