Raymond Larry Francis, Sr. 80, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in San Angelo surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born August 13, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to Raymond P. and Mildred McKinney Francis. He grew up in Dayton Ohio and graduated from Chaminade High School. After high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Raymond served for 20 years achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant before his retirement in 1978.
Raymond went back to work for the United States Government for another 20 years before retiring in 1999. He volunteered for Shannon Hospital for numerous years before fully enjoying retirement.
Raymond married the love of his life, Sun Cha Yi on June 20, 1973 in Seoul, South Korea, sharing almost 45 beautiful years together. Raymond was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and his faith. He was a man of great faith. He saw the Pope in Rome while stationed in Italy. He attended church at Sacred Heart and St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. His love for his family, our country, and his incredible strength will remain in our hearts forever. He will be dearly missed.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dolores M. English.
He is survived by his wife, Sun Cha Francis, of San Angelo; his son, Raymond L. Francis, Jr. and his wife Candace, his Grandchildren, Kian and Kailyn Francis, also of San Angelo; his dear friends, Leon and Jessie Samuel, of San Angelo; and Bill Hollis, Scott Bruton and Joel Anderson, all of whom he loved and cherished as if they were his own sons.
The Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M., Monday, June 11th at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Rev. Santiago Udayar as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
He donated to numerous charities and causes. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
