Frances Dillard Newman passed into God’s loving arms on January 8, 2018. Frances was born February 25, 1934 to Frank and Beulah Dillard in Coleman, Texas. The family moved to San Angelo and Frances completed her education. She attended business school and began her career at Rey Motors, which is now Randall Motors. She worked her way up to office manager, where she worked and retired after 50 years as a devoted employee. After retirement, Frances became an active member and volunteer withSouthland Baptist Church. She loved serving others and was a Stephen Minister till her death. She enjoyed going on mission trips with her church family. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, Sally and Dorothy. They were part of a team of friends known as the Merry Widowers. They loved getting together for games.
Frances married Lee Roy Newman and they had one son, Terry Lee Newman. The joys of her life were her two granddaughters, Kimberly Springer and Amy Schwertner. They were later replaced by her three great grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. We love you MiMi……..go fly with the angels.
Survivors include Terry Newman and Jackie Newman of Katy, Granddaughter Kimberly and Stephen Springer of Solado and Amy and Lance Schwertner of Fulshear; Great grandchildren, Emarie and Lyle Schwertner and Jace Springer; sisters, Nora Hooker and Elizabeth Lawson; brother, Robert Dillard and multiple nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Johnny O’Neal and John Economidis, Robert Dillard, Jr., George Randall, Steve Graphus, Donald Lawson and Robert Dillard, Sr. Donations to be made to Southland Baptist “Water for All”.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, at Southland Baptist Church, with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery.
