Maximo “Max” G. Jasso, of Water Valley, Texas, passed away, Monday, November
2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Max was born November 2, 1948 in Manilla, Arkansas to Evaristo and Santos (Garcia) Jasso. He attended school in Lamesa, Texas before being drafted into the Army in 1969 and served a tour in Vietnam with the Delta Raiders, D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, Screaming Eagles. Maximo served his country valiantly as an infantryman earning the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Infantryman Merit Badge. On December 24, 1971 he married the love of his life, Yolanda Balderas, in Lamesa, Texas. Max was employed as a sergeant with the Lamesa Police Department from January 1972 until May 1976 before moving to San Angelo, Texas. Max was
employed as a cable splicer with Verizon (formerly GTE) and worked for 26 years until
his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed retirement and kept busy looking after his farm,
plowing his fields, looking after his goats and finding the next auction deal. He and
Yolanda spent most of their weekends at the “old place” planning their next project. He
also enjoyed reading, hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Max is survived by his wife Yolanda, and his five girls, Rachel (Brad) Haralson of San
Angelo, Celeste Jasso of San Angelo, Marisol (John) Allen of Corpus Christi, Naomi
(Robert) House of New Braunfels and Rebekah (Espen) Jensen of Austin; eleven
grandchildren, Seth Jasso Allen, Olivia Argumedo, Matthew Haralson, Weston
Haralson, Alexander Argumedo, Maximo Haralson, Sophia Allen, Robbie House, Sarah
Allen, Owen House and Gracie House; his sisters Minnie Magallan, Diana Martinez, his
brothers, Evaristo Jasso, Ruben Jasso and David Jasso and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo and Santos, and his sister,
Elodia Maldonado. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Bethel Assembly of God in San Angelo. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Bethel Assembly of God with Rev. Israel Flores officiating. The Graveside Service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Arrangements are by Harper Funeral Home.
