Carol Lynn Booth Buie
Carol Lynn Booth Buie, 77 of San Angelo, Texas passed away on November 16, 2017 in her home in San Angelo, Texas. Carol was born in Houma, Louisiana to William and Eddrest Booth on July 26, 1940. She married Fred Garland Buie on December 24, 1960 and they were married for 50 years on December 24, 2010. Fred passed away one month after their 50th wedding anniversary. Carol worked as a Hairdresser for 25 years and was extremely passionate about her work. During Carol and Fred's marriage they owned several businesses including a furniture store and a monogramming shop. They were both house parents at Buckner's Boys Ranch near Lake LBJ for many years and have stayed in touch with many of the young men they mentored, one of whom went on to be a very successful attorney in Oklahoma. Without a doubt, Carol's biggest passion and greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother (Honey) and great-grandmother. She loved to fish, mow her lawn, ride her Sea-Doo and in her boat, up until the day she passed away. Carol also served on the Crockett County School Board in Ozona, Texas for several years. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Garland Buie, her parents, William and Eddrest Booth and her sister, Jo Ann Zurfluh.
Carol is survived by her son, Chad Buie and daughter-in-law, Teena Buie of Ralls, Texas; her daughter, Kimberly Miller and son-in-law, Rod Miller of Stephenville, Texas; her grandchildren, Colten Buie, MaClay Buie, Victoria Miller and Jayci Miller; two great-grandchildren, Collin Cross Miller and Cota Marie Miller; brother, John Booth of Dallas, Texas; her beloved "Mocha", an apricot toy poodle she adored for 19 years; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
An open visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
