Joan McBee-Bruton, 81, went to be with the lord on May 6, 2017. She passed peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family and a few close friends.
She and her twin sister were born at home to Roylene and Wayne McBee of Brady, Texas on June 11, 1935. She married William "Bill" Bruton, Jr. on January 6, 1967, in San Angelo, Texas. He had preceded her in death. Joan retired after 50 years of nursing as an LVN. She was a member of Word of Life Assembly of God Church in San Angelo.
Survivors include her sister Dorothy Jo Conley of Diana, Texas; her sons and their wives, Lewis Whitten and Larresia of Dripping Springs; Clay Whitten and Gina of Wylie; her daughter, Yvonne Tinney of San Angelo; 4 grandsons, five great grandsons; and three great granddaughters, nieces and nephews, plus a host of friends that she loved as family.
The person Joan missed the most was June who passed away shortly after their 54th birthday in Sherman, Texas.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at 1:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
