Diane Gilbert Warnick, 62, of San Angelo went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. Diane grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. Diane married her high school sweetheart Thomas Brownlee and they shared two beautiful children, Nicole and Matthew. Though they divorced, she and Thomas raised their children and remained close friends throughout her lifetime. She became a secretary for several businesses before settling at Gerald Ratliff Law Firm in San Angelo where she worked for 18 years until her death. Diane was a loving, giving and caring mother and grandmother who adored her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Her family was her world. Diane was the true matriarch of her family. She was strong and firm when necessary, and loving and giving when needed. She loved a challenge and enjoyed challenging others, and keeping them “on their toes,” so to speak. She loved sarcastic humor and was a playful jokester as well. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors, planting, camping and fishing. Most of all, she loved her family with all her heart. Getting together during the holidays, birthdays or otherwise, cooking her amazing recipes for them was something she held very dear. Those memories will be cherished by all who knew her and she will live on in our hearts forever!
Diane was preceded in death by her Mother and Step Father Betty and Norman Courage, and her father Johnny Vaughn Gilbert. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole B. Vallandingham and husband Jay, of San Angelo; her son, Matthew Brownlee, and wife Carly, of Bushkill, PA; her grandchildren, Chase Miller, of Tyler, TX, Lexi Vallandingham, of San Angelo, Logan Brownlee and Hennleigh Brownlee, both of Bushkill, PA; three brothers, Britt Gilbert and his wife Teresa, of San Angelo, Terrell Gilbert and his wife Donna, of Plano, TX, and Butch Evans and his wife Cathy, of Snyder, TX; her sister Susie Leavitt and her husband Mark, of Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends she considered family.
The funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home with Rev. J.T. Tucker officiating.
The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of San Angelo.
