Lydia Lou Frederick passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Lydia was born in Ringgold, TX on July 12, 1935 and was adopted by Jake and Gladys Sanders. She grew up in Lubbock, TX and graduated from Lubbock High School. After high school, Lydia attended Texas Tech University where she met the love of her life, Jerry Frederick. The couple were married on March 12, 1954 and shared sixty-two years together. Lydia and Jerry moved to San Angelo and became members of Johnson Street Church of Christ, where they were members for forty-six years. Lydia was a wonderful homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dr. B.D. Sanders and J.L. Sanders.
Lydia is survived by her husband Jerry Frederick of San Angelo; Two daughters, Sabrina Ward and husband Bob, Sherry Abel and husband Clark, all of San Angelo; Four grandchildren Justin Abel and wife Joni, Jenna Abel, Jake Ward and wife Katy, and Jaren Ward; One great-grandson, Jackson Abel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lydia’s family thanks the nurses, aides, chaplain, and staff of Kindred Hospice and Sagecrest. We express our deepest gratitude for Elva Herrera for many years of love and care for my wife, our Mother and our MiMi.
A Visitation will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Harper Funeral Home Chapel. Services honoring her Life will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Dr. Tommy King officiating. Burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
