Bobby Lynn Dear, Jr., 46, of San Angelo, went home to the Lord on November 26, 2016. He was born in Midland, TX on December 7, 1969. Bobby was a beloved son, a loving father, the “funny” uncle, a caring brother and cousin, and a best friend to many.
Left behind to forever cherish his memory are his parents, Eric and Reba Chunn; his father, Bob Dear, Sr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Kevin and Marcy Dickson; a much loved, strong-willed, wonderful son, Skyler Williamson-Dear; a caring nephew, Preston Dickson; a beautiful niece, Morgan Dickson; and two equally strong-willed, loving step-sons, Seth and Zane Williamson.
Bobby was a long time cancer survivor who endured the pain of childhood cancer to become a stronger and more caring man. He shared his journey with other cancer patients helping them overcome their own fears and doubts over the years.
Bobby loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile, a generous spirit, and a giving heart. He was always quick to help, easy to talk to, and the first to forgive. Bobby bought many a meal, fixed hundreds of flats, and tuned tons of tired engines expecting nothing in return: Just “because they needed it”.
He leaves us all with a “Bobby-sized” hole in our lives: Never to be forgotten and never to be replaced.
The pain and sadness we feel today will finally fade away and we will remember only the joy he brought into our lives, his shining example of a loving, Christian man, and the sense of joy, light, and wonder he left behind.
Bobby will have a Visitation at Harper Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 in the Harper Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
