Nora R. Spencer, 104, of San Antonio, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at her home in San Antonio, TX.
She was born on December 19, 1911 to William and Leonarda (Vallez) Rogers in Miles, TX, the seventh of nine children, Mary, Jasper, Cora, Johnny, Laura, Bill, Nora, Jimmy and Ann Rogers. Nora finished her schooling in the seventh grade worked as a bookkeeper in the banking industry. On September 26, 1973 she married Aubrey Spencer in Seguin, TX.
Nora was loved and respected by everyone she came in contact with. She deeply cared for her family and friends. Her love for animals and nature was beyond comprehension. The most incredible ability Nora had was her memory. She never forgot a name, place or event. We were all astonished with her sharpness and quick wit. Everyone that met her without exception would walk away and say “She is amazing!” She will be greatly missed but we know that she is at her eternal home in Heaven with her husband, Spencer, brothers, sisters and loved ones.
Our family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice and Helping Our Seniors Caregivers for their loving and exceptional care throughout Aunt Nora’s illness.
Visitation will be held 6:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with David Smith, pastor at Word of Life Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
