Peter Vincent Gregg, 69, of San Angelo, went to walk the streets of gold with his Lord and Savior on Thursday September 22, 2016 in San Angelo.
He was born on September 30, 1946 to Eudis and Caroline (Carson) Gregg in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Gregg.
Peter is survived by his loving spouse of 34 years, Gloria, his daughters; Amanda Gregg and Rosie Gregg, Paula (Brad) Baker, Theresa Gregg, Cecilia Gregg, son, Christopher
(Bethany) Gregg, two special grandsons, Reagan Peter Gregg, Riley Paul Gregg, and grandchildren, Brianna Gregg, Jake Zarate, Jackson and Jillian Baker, Ariana Gregg and Elia Gregg.
Peter loved the Lord with all his heart and spent his life serving the Lord and serving others. To know Peter was to love him. He never met a stranger. He shared his warm hugs and words with everyone. His six favorite words were “I Love You” and “God Bless You”. Peter spent time serving in the Peace Corps (1969 – 1971) in Bolivia. He lived in various places internationally with his parents who were officers in the Air Force and Women’s Army Corp.
Peter loved his job as a medical social worker. He cared deeply for all his patients and colleagues and always went above and beyond the call of duty for them.
Peter served as a deacon at Glen Meadows Baptist Church. His love and joy came from serving the Lord and others. The love of Christ shined from Peter’s heart and poured out to all those he knew and loved. He really was a ray of Sonshine.
Peter married the love of his life, Gloria on December 8, 1982. They were absolute best friends and did everything together. No greater love existed than theirs. They had two daughters, Amanda and Rosie, who Peter always referred to as his angels. They were his pride and joy.
Peter’s happiness multiplied when his grandsons were born. Reagan Peter Gregg and Riley Paul Gregg were the apples of his eye. Peter left a phenomenal legacy of love, compassion, discipleship and service for his daughters and grandchildren; a legacy they will continue in love and honor of their precious Daddy and Pa.
Pallbearers will be Richard Blake, Tony Avalos, Tom Houston, Martin Medrano, Gary Cox, and Chris Henorema.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Glen Meadows Baptist Church deacons.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Glen Meadows Baptist Church with Mack Roller, pastor of Glen Meadows Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie funeral home.
