Mary G. “Gigi” Harris, 70, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 1, 2016 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. Gigi was born January 10, 1946 in San Saba, Texas to Taylor and Mary Bukitis Solsbery. She grew up in a farming family in Lohn. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School. She married the love of her life, Dale Alan Harris on November 9, 1968 in San Angelo and shared 47 adventurous and beautiful years together. Gigi loved to travel and lovedgetting “Lost” in cities all over the world. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and later her cherished grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Mabe.” Gigi loved spending time with them. She had a passion for life and love of her family that was unsurpassed by anyone. Her bright and sunny disposition allowed her the ability to spread joy wherever she was and to whoever she met. She was a hairdresser for 50 years and made many friends all over the country. Gigi loved all of the clients she cared for over the years and had many amusing stories to tell everyone about her experiences. Gigi had another passion in life that she dabbled in when she was not being a hairdresser. She was an amazing artist and loved painting. She was a member of The San Angelo Art Club, and her paintings were displayed in a number of places throughout the city. Whatever canvas she touched turned to beauty. Gigi’s fun-loving spirit and life will live on and be cherished in our hearts forever! She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Taylor “Tad” Solsbery, and one sister, JoAnn Kite. She is survived by her husband Dale Harris, of San Angelo; her son and daughter-in-law, Dale Ashton and Natalie Harris, of Mertzon; her Grandchildren, Caylee and Canon Harris, of Mertzon; her Sister and Brother-in-law, Pat “Tishie” and Rex Walker, of Abilene; her Brother and sister-in-law, Clifford “Shorty” and Kathy Harris, of Lubbock; her Sister-in-law, Barbara Damm, of Sweetwater, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and very close friends. The Memorial Service will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 8, 2016 at The First United Methodist Church in Mertzon with Rev. Bun Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Mertzon, P.O. Box 583, Mertzon, Tx 76941 or the Sherwood Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 523, Mertzon, Tx, 76941.
