Marion Bruce Van Cleave, 88, was called home to heaven on July 10, 2016 in San Angelo. Bruce was born November 26, 1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He married June Ella Kaye on June 7, 1947 in El Paso, Texas. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife June, one sister, Margaret “Sissy” Van Cleave Stendebach and one brother, Basil Van Cleave. He is survived by his children, Michael Bruce Van Cleave and his wife Sheryl, Marcia Christine McClendon and her husband Paul, Marilyn Jo McKinney and her husband Robert; her Grandchildren, Stefanie Eigen and her husband Sam, Amanda Clark and her husband Jeremy, Evan McClendon, Hanson McKinney, Colton McKinney and Jyl Venner; and one great Grandson, Benjamin Noah Clark. Bruce graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, MO. He worked for The El Paso Natural Gas company for 35 years and retired at the age of 55. Bruce was a 33-degree Mason and a member and past Secretary of the Ysleta Lodge 1333 which is now combined with Lodge 130 in downtown El Paso for many years. He became the district Deputy over all lodges in the El Paso area, making two visits per lodge for 1 year. He was a member of Square Dancer’s Club of El Paso and the Airstream Trailer Club. Bruce and June moved to San Angelo in 1989 where he was an active member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. He was also a World Bible School Grader, Wood Turner’s Club member, a volunteer for Meals for The Elderly and Rust Street Ministries, an avid Golfer and an amazing master wood worker. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Tommy King Officiating. The Burial will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Monday July 18, 2016 in El Paso, Texas.
