Dolores Nell Dunlap Stone left behind all earthly pain and met God in heaven on July 1, 2016. She was born Sept. 15, 1939 in Brownwood, TX. to Denver and Billie (Conner) Dunlap. She spent her early years in San Angelo and often spoke of exploring the banks of the Concho River as a child. She was twice married, to Jerry Bonner on Nov. 15, 1958 and to Roy Stone on Aug. 8, 1977.
Dolores was a good mother. After finding herself a single parent, she returned to school and became a nurse to better provide for her children. Later in life she earned a college degree and became a counselor. She was a voracious reader, a published poet, and an author of children's stories. At an age when most are thinking of retirement she adopted her granddaughter and raised her as her own. We will all miss her dearly.
Dolores was preceded in death by both of her parents, two sons Troy Bonner and Terry Bonner, and her best dog ever "Junior ".
Survivors include a brother, Denver Dunlap; son, Jamie Bonner and wife Jeannie; daughters, Lisa Bonner, Christy Stone, and Ashley Irvin and husband Ty; grandchildren, Trevor Bonner, Joshua Bonner, Dwight Laurenzana, Justin Laurenzana, Bryan Kenley, Chance Bonner, Jalisa Lewis, Aaliyah Branch, Brooke Stone, and Troy Stone. She had fourteen great grandkids, including Rayna (Her coloring and movie watching partner) She is also survived by her lifetime best friend, Pat Pierce.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 with family present from 6 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 6 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
