Mason Guy Powell, 26, resident of San Angelo, Texas, graduated to ‘Guardian Angel’ on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Mason passed away at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Institute in San Antonio, Texas from complication of liver disease.
He was born June 9, 1990, in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas, to Mark Guy Powell and Connie Ruth Halfmann Powell. He was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Mason graduated from Wall High School in 2008. After graduation Mason attended Angelo State University for several years. He then decided to pursue his passion of firearms and became a gunsmith. He was well on his way to achieving that goal. While working toward this goal he was employed with Armstrong McCall where he delivered supplies to many salons in town. He was loved by the clients he serviced.
He was an incredible marksman and loved hunting, especially dove hunting. In his spare time Mason loved playing video games with his friends and on-line, but most of all he loved his sports. Mason enjoyed both football and soccer for most of his life. He played SASA soccer for 9 years. While playing soccer he met his best and most loyal friend, Roddy Warren whom he loved dearly. He also played football in middle school and high school. After high school Mason often played indoor soccer with Roddy and the gang. Mason was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was never more excited than when he was able to attend three Cowboy games last year. He enjoyed playing fantasy football with friends and would nearly always pick Cowboy players.
