Jack Lee Minica, 83, of Big Spring, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born to the late, Albert Lewis and Edna Ford Minica on March 28, 1933 in Brownwood. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a long haul truck driver for a number of years. He was a believer in lifelong learning and often mentioned in his last years that he wanted to return to college to learn more about computers. He was a self taught man in many aspects and will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Lewis Minica.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Lee and Ivette Minica, Shannon Minica, Kelly and Mark Luetkehoelter, and Ed and Sanela Minica; 5 grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Harrison; and many other relatives and friends, including his former wife, Jeannette Minica.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Abilene. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and photos as well as sign the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com. Mr. Minica will remain in state for those who wish to stop by the funeral home to pay respects and sign the book from Thursday through Sunday.
