Mary Ann Clark Kollmyer died May 30th after a brief battle with cancer. She headed for Heaven’s lush fairways and beautiful vistas with a smile on her face, her golf clubs, palette, brushes and paints by her side.
She was born August 12, 1943 in Ballinger to Arthur and May Clark. She graduated from Ballinger High School in 1961 and she married Ray Meacham on December 31, 1961. On August 27, 1994 she embarked on a new chapter in her life when she married Steve Kollmyer.
Mary was a homemaker providing guidance and care for her daughter and family. Mary was born creative and spent much of her time sewing, working on a new craft or some other artistic endeavor. She also worked outside the home for the Clinic Hospital, Mereta Oil Company and for Connie’s Fashions as the Advertising Manager until she retired in 1995.
She was an avid and tenacious competitor on the golf course and spent many years playing the game she loved with her friends. When arthritis took her away from golf she focused her energy and talents on the San Angelo Art club and The Kendall Gallery where she was Exhibits Chairperson. She was an accomplished artist and was very passionate about the Art Club and the Gallery. Through the years she has received many awards and was named 2015 Artist of the Year.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in San Angelo and served on the Church Board.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; daughter, Dace Stockman and husband David; brother, Elwayne Clark; former husband, Ray Meacham and wife Sue; brother-in-law Joe Kollmyer and wife Melisse; special friend, Verna Shaw; and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 officiated by the Rev. Ben G. Hubert.
