Laura Belle Jones, 97, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of San Angelo, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2016. Laura Belle was born May 20, 1918, in Texico, New Mexico, to R. O. James and Sarah Frances Reed James. She and her family lived in several towns in the Panhandle of Texas, in her growing-up years. When they lived in Shamrock, she graduated from Shamrock High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who devoted her life to her family and friends. Laura Belle had a tremendous sense of humor and loved joking and laughing with everyone she met. Most importantly, she was extremely supportive of her children, and was at every school function and activity they were involved in. She was the epitome of the "Super Mom" for her children. Laura Belle had a tremendous love of children. She had a daycare in her home called Mother Goose Nursery. She also worked in numerous day care centers in San Angelo. Aside from her love of caring for children, Laura Belle was a hard working woman, with a great love for the Lord and helping others as well, tirelessly giving of her time to her church, St. Paul Presbyterian, where she was a longtime member. She also volunteered for numerous organizations in the San Angelo area. Laura Belle will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Laura Belle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband N.W. 'Dub' Tolle, later, her husband, Bill J Jones, her brother, Raymond 'Red' O. James II, and one grandson, Nathaniel Tolle.
Laura Belle is survived by her children, Michael James Tolle and his wife Susan, and Patti Fryer and her husband Larry; her grandchildren, Micheline Simmering and her husband Jake, and Amanda Brewster and her husband Chase; her great granddaughters, Annabelle Taylor Tolle, and Katherine Brooke Simmering; a nephew, Dr. Raymond O. James III and his wife Lind; a niece, Jane Kinder and her husband Don; and a niece, Beverly Ann Swisher.
An open time of visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo on Friday, April 1, 2016 for family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens of San Angelo. Rev. Craig Meyers will officiate.
