Margaret was born on February 14, 1922 to Edward and Juanita (Robles) Labrada in Lawton, OK. She married Joe B. Contreras in 1946 in San Angelo. Margaret was a great cook, devoted wife, and loving mother. She was a stay at home mother, and raised all four of her children with her husband Joe B. Contreras. She loved the outdoors, and would go fishing with her husband or sit outside in the sun with her rose bushes. Margaret loved the colors pink and red, and wore them often. She was feisty, strong-willed, and had an incredible strength in her to overcome any obstacle that arose or any task placed before her. She enjoyed having her children and grandchildren around her, and always had something prepared to offer them to eat. Margaret had a happy disposition, and was always laughing. Her laughter was contagious, and she was incredibly affectionate, never running out of hugs or kisses. She was a little night owl, and would enjoy staying up late watching her novelas. She loved many things, but one thing she disliked was wearing shoes. She was always barefoot if she could help it. She would sit and knit, all the while moving her foot as if to some music only she heard. More than anything, Margaret loved her family, and was always there if you needed her. She was a very strong person and she was the rock of our family. Now the family tree, she and my grandpa created, grows on that rock and her strength and tenacity for life will live on in us. We love you so much, Grandma. God keep you.
