Guadalupe M. Reyes, 67, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday February 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Rosary will be 7:00 Thursday February 18, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Friday February 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Emilio Sosa, officiating. Burial will take place in the Mertzon Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
He was born on June 2, 1948 to Jose and Julianna (Montez) Reyes in Mertzon, TX. On May 31, 1968 he married Evangelina “Eva” Valenzuela in Big Lake. He loved his children, grandchildren and woodworking. Guadalupe liked watching western movies, playing and watching baseball. He played baseball in his boots and once tried out for the Pittsburg Pirates. He worked hard all his life and taught his family how to do the same.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and believed and followed his Catholic principals.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
He was preceded in death by parents, great-grandson, Eddie Reyes the 2nd, brothers, Jesus Reyes, Gilbert Reyes and Jose De Luz "Bulo" Reyes and a sister, Mary Helen Pina.
Guadalupe is survived by his loving spouse of 48 years, Evangelina “Eva” Reyes of San Angelo, daughter, Irma (Raymond) Acosta of Mertzon, sons, Eddie (Patricia) Reyes of San Angelo, Alfredo (Laura) Reyes of Mertzon, Guadalupe (Patricia ) Reyes, Jr. of San Angelo, grandchildren are Candace Mora, Zachary (Prisicilla) Gomez, Edward Justin (Priscilla) Reyes, Kurtlan Reyes, Jalan Reyes, Xavier (Debbie) Gomez, Joe Reyes, Guadalupe "Tubby" Reyes III, Chris Rodarte, Araseli Gonzales, Lauren Reyes, Jamee Salazar, Julianna Reyes, Marianna Reyes, Dolores Reyes, Great-grandchildren, Cameron and Caleb Melendez, John Andrew and Jeremiah Aguirre, Savannah Gomez, Sophie Reyes, Edward Justin “EJ” Reyes, Jr. all of San Angelo, sister, Ruth "Kiki" Benedict of Newnan, GA, brother, Ray (Gloria) Reyes, sisters, Delia Martinez, Elva Reyes and Debbie Reyes all of Big Lake, TX, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
