After retiring from Levi, she became extremely active in changing the lives of hundreds of children in San Angelo over the years by volunteering and caring for all of them at the San Angelo Day Nursery for over 17 years. The love she provided to all these children was as deep as the love she gave to all her children and grandchildren who knew her only as Gaga. Mom's lasting legacy to her children and grandchildren was her immeasurable capacity for unconditional love.
