Kenneth Hardy Turnbo passed away January 30, 2016.
Hardy was born September 15, 1934 in San Angelo, TX to S.T. and Lois Rebecca Turnbo. Hardy attended John H Regan Elementary, Edison Jr. High, and graduated from San Angelo High School in 1953. He spent 2 years in the U.S. Air Force, worked 12 years for Gandy’s Creamery as a Route supervisor. He entered the ranching business in 1963. He along with his father-in-law Merton West operated the Door Key Headquarters Ranch for 40 years under the name West and Turnbo. Raising Champion livestock was very important to him.
Hardy was a member of the Christoval United Methodist Church. He served 15 years on the Christoval ISD Board of Trustees, 14 years of that as Board President.
Hardy is survived by his wife Ann of 60 years, daughters Molly (Dwain) Stewart, Kelly (George) Kuykendall all of Christoval. Four grandchildren Brian Stewart of Dallas, Scott (Courtney) Stewart of Abilene, Kenneth Kuykendall, (Amber Minor) of Christoval, and Janay Kuykendall of Christoval; four great grandchildren Lane and Madalyn Grace Kuykendall, and Tynli Tait and Jaxon Gray Stewart. Hardy is survived by one sister Janie (Philip) Bryant of San Angelo. One niece Michele (Scott) Ward, Kate and Lauren Ward. One nephew Matt Bryant of Frisco, A very special friend Sabra Whitley. George (Vickie) DeWolf of Medina TX. Jose and Catalina Huerta and their children Claudia, Joe, and Emmanuel.- Jose was Hardy’s “right hand man” in the ranching business. A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Cedar Manor nursing staff, special care unit.

A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Monday, February 1, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 2, 2016 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Reverend Cathy McCorkle presiding.
