Julian Lara Torres, age 78 of Robert Lee, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2015.
He was born to the late Tiodoso Torres and Julia Lara Torres on February 20, 1937, in El Remolina; Coah., Mexico. He moved to Robert Lee in 1951. Julian married Juanita Hernandez on January 7, 1956. In Robert Lee he worked at Bryan’s;00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sand and Gravel as a loader and foreman. This is where Julian raised his beautiful family and lived for over sixty years.
Julian is preceded in death by his sons, Gilberto Torres and Joe Torres; his brothers, Sebastian Torres, Tiodoso Torres, Nicanor Torres, Jesus Torres, Rosendo Torres, Pablo Torres, Alvin Torres and Jose Torres; and sisters, Isabel Torres and Cesarea Torres.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Torres; sister, Estolia Barron; children, Johnny and Kay Torres, Rosa and Joe Longoria, Dora Torres and Riche Bain, Mary Lou and Efrain Garcia, Yolanda Saucedo, and Julian Torres; twenty grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday December 5 and Sunday December 6, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Our Lady of the Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to follow at Robert Lee Hispanic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Grandsons who will honor him as pallbearers; Jonathan Torres, Eric Torres, Gilbert Torres, Bobby Longoria, Danny Garcia, Lewis Samaniego, Jr., Salomon Saucedo, and Omar Saucedo.
