Thomas T. Martin, 91, of San Angelo, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Robert Lee Care Center, Robert Lee, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church of San Angelo, Texas with Dr. James Hassell and Robert Dillard officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas with Doug Keenan, Minister of Pastoral Care at First Baptist Church, Austin, Texas officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Tom was born August 20, 1924, in Paducah, Kentucky to James Harvey Martin and Lucy (Page) Martin. He graduated from Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity, and from Presbyterian School of Christian Education with a Masters Degree, Richmond, VA. Tom was married to Ola Mae Kemp on August 2, 1955 in Malakoff, Texas. This is where Tom began his ministry as a pastor at First Baptist Church, Malakoff, then to First Baptist Church Austin, where he was Minister of Pastoral Care. Next, he was on to San Marcos Baptist Academy where he was the Chaplain and a teacher; then to Galena Park where he taught Special Education classes and at the same time was pastor of a Pasadena Mission Church. Tom then moved to Richmond, VA where he became Pastor for 13 years at Weatherford Memorial Baptist Church. He then was called to First Baptist Church, Austin, Texas where he was Associate Pastor and upon retiring to San Angelo, Texas became the Pastor's Visitation Assistant as along as his health permitted. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Ann Higgins of Houston, TX and Jake Higgins of Redwood, CA, Frances Whipple of Portland, MA, Kerry Kemp of Tucson, AZ. Pallbearers will be John Hancock, Brad Haralson, Johnny Matthews, Jim Jones, Larry Edgington, and Calvin Featherston
