Sheldon Lee Meats , 76 passed away November 7, 2015 at his home in San Angelo, TX. He was born June 20 , 1939 in Kansas City , Missouri to parents Sheldon Grant and Anita Maude Meats.
Sheldon was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Sally ( Price ) Meats to whom he married in 1961 , sharing 54 wonderful years together. From that union he leaves behind four children, Debra Wyatt , Mary Trubenstein , Anita Carlile , Sheldon Lee Jr. and wife Annmarie Meats, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Sheldon proudly served his country for 22 years in the Air Force retiring as Master Sergeant. He was employed at Weathersbee Electric Company in San Angelo for several years before retiring to be Ordained as a Minister in the Church of Christ of San Angelo, TX.
Sheldon was a tough man who loved Blue Grass music, cross word puzzles, college football, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Northside Church of Christ 19 E. 29th St., San Angelo, TX at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at Johnson's Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.
