Charlie Joe Niblett, 83, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Schleicher County Medical Center in Eldorado surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma on August 18th 1932 to Jewel Rudolf and Lonnie Faye Niblett. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Eldorado on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
After serving in the US Military during the Korean War Charlie began a lifelong career in the oil and gas fields of west Texas. In 1959 he met and married Cathy Freeman. Halliburton transferred Charlie and family to Eldorado where they would remain until his death. In December 1986 he started the family business, Niblett's Oilfield Services, which continues to this day. Charlie made countless friends during that time. His friends will remember him for his loyalty, his quick humor and his hard work ethic. He was known for his quiet generosity and his ability to make even strangers feel welcome. After his retirement he made his daily trips to the office to "check on things" and share a joke, a smile or a fish story.
Charlie's family, including children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, will remember him for the simple wisdom that he always offered up wrapped in funny sayings or humorous stories. Most of all, they will forever cherish the unconditional love that he always maintained for each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Cathy Niblett; his children; daughter's Liz Lloyd and husband Mark, Cherie Sproul and husband Mike, and son Ashley Niblett and wife Edie. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren; TJ Rodriguez, wife Melisa and children Jordan, Kelsey and Ava; Cameron Cammack, husband Van, children Myra and Addie; Travis Lloyd, wife Jenny, children Casey and Lindsey; Charlie Lloyd, wife Kristin and son Jamison; Taylor Niblett and daughter Kadrie; Catrina Lloyd; Kadie Niblett; Ashley Paulson; Lynley Glass and daughter Kyleigh; Colby Niblett, and Conley Jo Niblett. He also leaves behind, his sisters Mary Ann Jones and husband Charlie, and Wynoma Votaw and special cousins, Fred Boyd and Linda Boyd Huskey and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eldorado, TX and the Eldorado Masonic Lodge 890. Honorary pallbearers are; Leo Rodrigues, Martin Iglesias, Johnny Esparza, Jason Chatham and employees of Niblett's Oilfield Services.
In keeping with Charlie's lifelong concern for those less fortunate, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Eldorado - Philippines Outreach Fund or the givers choice of charity.
