Donald Craven Faubion, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 15, 2015, in San Angelo. He was born to the late Arthur Faubion and Mary Ethel Craven Faubion, November 7, 1928, in Leander, Texas. His parents were descendants of pioneer families that settled in Williamson County. He was a 1946 graduate of Leander High School and lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He served four years in the US Air Force. After service to his country he began a career with the United States Postal Service in Austin, Texas. Upon retirement he moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1985. Donald was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. First, he was a member of the Leander Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Upon moving to San Angelo he became a faithful member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church.
During Don's retirement years he engaged in his three favorite past times. First, he spent many years behind the wheel traveling through the United States, especially the Western States. He also pursued his interest in Western art. When he was at home he faithfully followed his favorite sports teams.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Earlene Faubion; daughters, Debra Faubion of Galveston, TX, and Cindy Barba of Austin, TX, and son-in-law Marcelo Barba; granddaughters, Elissa Collins of New Orleans, LA, and husband Forrest Collins, and Caroline Barba of San Francisco, CA; sister, Dr. Norma Faubion of San Angelo, TX; and brother, Winston Faubion of San Angelo, TX.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2015, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Davenport-Herbst officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation following the service at St. Paul. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2015, at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, TX, under the direction of Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Paul Presbyterian Church San Angelo and Leander Presbyterian Church, Leander, Texas.
