Barbara Mae Alsman, 80, of Miles, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at an area nursing home.
She was born on July 7, 1935 to John and Aleen (Pennington) Sinclair in San Angelo, TX.
She graduated from Central High School at the age of 17. Uniquely Barbara was a semi-pro Dance Roller-skater in the late 1940’s, worked as a bookkeeper, and served as a House Parent for various children’s homes across Texas. On April 4, 1953 she married Harvey Alsman in San Angelo. Barbara and Harvey lived in Miles. She was truly a loving “Pip”, always happy, smiling, singing and giving her love unconditionally to those whose lives she touched.
She was a member of various Baptist Churches and her devout faith defined her entire life.
Barbara is survived by her loving spouse of 62 years Harvey Darrell Alsman, son, Tony Alsman of Burnet; daughter, Brenda Marvel and husband, Jon of Miles; brother, Robert Sinclair of San Angelo; granddaughter, Cindy Rodgers and husband, Matt of Garland; grandson, Clayton Waggoner of Houston and great-grandson, Garrett Lee Rodgers of Garland.
She was preceded in death by father, John Alvin Sinclair, mother, Aleen Sinclair, sister, Reba Fogle.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015, 9:00 am - 10:30 am at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, 11:00 am at the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
