Catherine Agnes Gabrysch Kasberg, 89, of San Angelo passed away on Monday October 5, 2015 at an area care center.
Rosary will be 9:00am Monday October 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am with Rev. Ariel Lagunilla, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home of San Angelo.
Catherine was born July 17, 1926 in Falls City, TX. to Willie Felix and Flavia M. (Krawietz) Gabrysch. She attended Falls City schools and graduated from Karnes City High School in May of 1944. She worked as a Falls City postal clerk prior to attending San Antonio Business College and working for James Kerr Co. in San Antonio.
She married Eugene Kasberg Sr. on April 18, 1953 in Falls City, TX.
While raising three strong, independent and often mischievous children, Catherine earned her LVN license and worked at Shannon Hospital. She continued her education receiving her RN from the San Angelo Registered Nursing Program. Later in her career Catherine specialized in oncology care and worked with home health nursing. Catherine’s entire nursing career was at Shannon Hospital where she touched the lives of many with her nursing vocation.
Catherine loved gardening, sewing, theater and collecting. She enjoyed writing poetry and had some poems published in the San Angelo Standard Times. Catherine was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Michael Kasberg and Michael Warning, nephews Charlie, Albert and Anthony Zunker, and family friends Cole Lange, Lane Allison and Ken Granzin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Vivian G. Huddleston, A. D. Gabrysch, Billy Gabrysch, Kenton L. Gabrysch and “BeBe” Manka and three infant children, Joseph, Mark and Jonathan.
Survivors include her children; Eugene Kasberg Jr. and wife, Carla of San Angelo, Gerry Kasberg and wife, Lisa of Birome, TX., and Cathy Warning and husband, Larry of Henderson NV., grandchildren; Michael S. Kasberg and wife Kelli, Grace Kasberg, Michael E., Adrianna, and Jessica Warning, sisters; Thelma L. Zunker and Flavia Anita Gabrysch, both of Falls City, TX., and a brother; Robert K. Gabrysch of Houston
