Leo Price Connally of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2015. He is survivied by his devoted wife of 54 years, Betty Connally, two daughters, Suzan Johnson and Tracey McCullough of San Angelo along with Tracey's husband Jesse McCullough and a son, Richard Scarbro and wife Paris Scarbro of Giddings, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters; Judy Arnold of Kermit, Texas and Bonnie Pickarts of Franklin, North Carolina. Leo had seven loving grandchildren; Mathew Johnson, Kelly Scarbro, Ben Scarbro, Travis Scarbro, Lauren McCullough and Abbey McCullough as well as four great grandchildren. Mr. Connally was preceeded in death by his parents, Billie and Horace Bryant, and four brothers; James Connally, Bill Connally, Jo Ed Bryant and Roger Bryant.
Leo was born in Electra, Texas on September 9, 1935 and lived a life of service beginning with his years in the Navy from 1955 - 1959, discharged as a Staff Seargent. In Kermit, he served as City Councilman for 15 years as well as Mayor Protem and many community boards. He served many years as a Gideon and most recently was the president of the Silver Stars and Sunday School teacher at Glen Meadows Baptist Church. Leo and Betty retired from running two businesses in Kermit, Texas for 35 years and moved to San Angelo in 2000.
Viewing will be held at Robert Massie Funeral Home from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30th followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm at Glen Meadows Baptist Church in San Angelo. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.
