Betty Lou Scott passed from this life Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the age of eighty one. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Southgate Church of Christ with Eddie Howard officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Betty had been a resident of San Angelo since 1975. She was born on July 19th, 1934 to C.B. and Connie Lightfoot in Bonham, Texas. She married Art Scott on January 16th, 1953 in Lovington, New Mexico. Art and Betty were married for 62 years and raised three children. Betty worked for 20 years as secretary for Southgate Church of Christ where she was a faithful member for over 40 years. Betty was famous for her home cooking and fudge that she made every Christmas. She enjoyed creating special memories with her children and grandchildren by attending sporting events, recitals, and taking many of them on vacation trips.
Surviving family members who will cherish her memory are her husband Art Scott and her three children: Ron and his wife Rosanne Scott, Darryl and his wife Rita Scott, and Phyllis and her husband Terry Gibson. Her grandchildren include the families of Jeff and Stephanie Scott, Wes and Ani Scott, Courtney and Colby Jones, Brittney and Laramie Daniel, Tiffany and Patrick Keely, April and Jackson Tandy, Jake and Park Scott, and Tim and Hailey Gibson. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; a sister Edith Graham; two brothers Jay Lightfoot and Jim Lightfoot; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
