Joe Hale Stubblefield, age 82 passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in San Angelo, Texas. Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Rev. James Mitchell will be officiating Joe's celebration of life. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Joe was born September 25, 1932 in Runnels County, Texas to Joseph Redman and Opal Pearl Keating Stubblefield. He was raised on a farm and attended Ballinger High School where they were Regional Champions in football in 1949. Joe enlisted in the National Guard in 1950, and subsequently, went to
work in the oil field where he held various positions in production operations. After leaving the oil field, he pursued his dream of being an independent business man in several different ventures. Joe loved dancing and traveling with his wife Pat, enjoyed riding his horse, giving grandchildren a ride on the tractor, going to Bearcat football games, and sharing a spirited joke with friends.
Joe is survived by his wife Patricia Oakley Stubblefield; brother Darrell Ray Stubblefield of Denton, Texas; children: Joe Alan Stubblefield of Houston, Texas, Harold Ray Stubblefield of San Angelo, Della Lynn Whisenhunt of Odessa, Texas and Susan Ann Wise of Austin, Texas; eleven grandchildren: David Stubblefield, Amy Stubblefield Avants, Jeremy Stubblefield, Melissa Stubblefield Matlock, Josh Stubblefield, Tiffany Boen Hansen, Alyssa Boen Burkham, Zane Jarvis, Tucker Kennemer, Bailey Kennemer, and Boyd Kennemer; and ten great-grandchildren.
