Ethel E. Fenwick, 90, longtime resident of San Angelo, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 in San Angelo. She was born to the late, William Travis and Ida Josephine Carson Phillips on Wednesday, November 5, 1924 in Gouldbusk, Texas. She married Alpha "Alfie" O. Fenwick on November 8, 1941 in Ballinger, Texas. Ethel was a member of the St. Paul Presbyterian Church. She worked with Monarch Tile, Council of Government (Grandparents Program), and First Baptist Church Childcare. Ethel was known for her giving heart and ability to bring a bright light to any situation. She was a true people person. Ethel was a feisty lady, having a strong will and independent streak. Her love of people and giving nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Travis Phillips and Ida Josephine Ramsey; husband, Alfie Fenwick; son, Floyd Fenwick; son-in-law, Ed Cobb; 1 grandson; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sonny Fenwick and Sue, Wynona Calcote and Ed, Betty Cobb, and Janet Appleton and Bobby; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in the Belvedere Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Houghston; all the friends who took the time to visit her; and especially all the staff of Senior Care Center for their love and dedication to Ethel and our family.
